The Diocese of Mansa in Zambia: Educating Young People in the Catholic Faith
From September 2022 to May 2023, the Diocese of Mansa undertook the inspiring project, “Education of Young People in Catholic Doctrine and the Importance of Sacred Scripture.” This initiative offered young people a profound experience of faith, drawing on the YOUCAT and DOCAT books to deepen their understanding of Catholic teachings and strengthen their faith. My experience with the presentations and the reading of YOUCAT and DOCAT has greatly enhanced my understanding of the catechism of the Catholic Church. I had many questions about the Church’s doctrine, but these documents and the presentations have clarified what we stand for as a Church. I encourage other youths to read and understand what our Church teaches. I have grown both in faith and intellectually. Thank you very much.

The youth education program should continue to be available to young people. I have learned how to use my knowledge and my life for Jesus Christ. The youth pastoral program for 2024 builds upon what we learned last year. Our theme is: Faith Learned, Faith Lived, and Faith Celebrated. Last year, we deepened our faith as we gathered in various parishes, deaneries, and the diocese. In 2024, we are reflecting and preparing for the Youth Congress from our Small Christian Communities. This reflection helps us see how we live our faith in our daily lives. The Congress in December will be a moment to celebrate our faith.
