Brazil is enthusiastic about YOUCAT

Bestseller Youth Catechism of the Catholic Church

The YOUCAT, Youth Catechism of the Catholic Church has been a bestseller among young Catholics worldwide for years. According to a report by the Diocesan Bishop, Dom Dominique You, working in the Brazilian diocese of “Santíssima Conceição do Araguaia”, this is also the case in Brazil.

As part of a project funded by the Pontifical Foundation Aid to the Church in Need (ACN), the diocese received thousands of YOUCAT publications in 2022, from which many children, young people and adults benefit in their religious education. In addition to the Bible for Children, Youth Catechisms and ACN’s Stations of the Cross and Rosary brochures, YOUCAT publications are also a key tool of evangelization in Brazil.

For example, YOUCAT was recently distributed at a diocesan youth day to the 300 young participants, who are now actively using it in their local youth groups. Since then, parish coordinators and catechists learned about YOUCAT materials in several regional meetings. Online meetings with catechists from the various parishes have been set up to facilitate training and improve catechesis. In short, the use of YOUCAT in religious education work continues to vigorously move forward!
