What is an aura - and what is it not?

Many young people tend to look for idols among famous people. They compare themselves to them and are frustrated when their efforts don’t get them the attention they expect. Their desire to be someone else makes them focus more on others than on themselves. This can even lead to them no longer knowing who they really are and where their place is in this world.
A genuine aura comes from authenticity, not appearance. A person with a special charm can certainly be a “cool guy”, but a genuine aura requires much more than just eye-catching and visually appealing behavior. Simply appearing “cool” is not enough to have a special appeal.

Those who love are beautiful

Without love, even the most attractive, famous, and rich only radiate emptiness and loneliness. They are like a beautiful shell without anything inside, like salt without flavor or perfume without fragrance. They may have a certain allure that attracts many people, but this appeal ultimately lacks eternal value.
However, there is an aura, an attraction that goes beyond the natural, an aura that can persist even after death. This aura is independent of external standards. It’s the fruit of love – and love is the destiny of every human being!
As different as people may be – young and old, rich and poor, healthy and sick – they all agree on one thing: They all want to love and be loved. And whenever they have this love within them, they are beautiful and attractive. Above all, they become like God. They radiate something of the beauty of God. People like to be near them. They have a special aura, an irresistible charm. Because they are just as God intended them to be.

Finding the way back to who you are

Before you ask yourself how to become attractive to others, ask yourself another question: Who did God intend me to be? What gifts, what kind of personality, and interests has he given me? And what does he want from me? Your aura is directly related to discovering your true self. It depends on you becoming the person you are in the eyes of your Creator.
It takes courage to face yourself. When you confront yourself, you will encounter strengths but also weaknesses and shortcomings. Don’t judge yourself for what you lack or for your mistakes. Treat yourself as you would treat your best friend. Over time, you will become much more aware of the beauty within you. You will strive less and less to lead the lives of others. On the contrary – you will enjoy being yourself and continue to know your unique beauty.
In a letter to young people, Pope Francis said: “Dare to be more, because who you are is more important than any possession. What good are possessions or appearances? You can become what God, your Creator, knows you are, if only you realize that you are called to something greater. Ask the help of the Holy Spirit and confidently aim for the great goal of holiness. In this way, you will not be a photocopy. You will be fully yourself.”

Saints - people with an aura

Aura and holiness are two inseparable terms.
Whether John Paul II, Mother Teresa, or Padre Pio – they all radiated a distinctive aura that deeply impressed people everywhere. Their aura was not the result of a deliberate effort but the fruit of their devotion, faith, and love.
The saints found their place by saying yes fully and completely – to their calling, their God-given mission. This is precisely what made them so attractive – and beautiful! Despite wrinkles, impairments, and even their character flaws.
The secret of their charisma is this: The saints were not beautiful, good, or holy in and of themselves. They reflected the beauty and love of God. The focus was not on them but on God, the Eternal One. Their attraction remained, even when their physical powers waned, and continue to inspire us long after their death.

Illuminate the world with your special aura

God created you with intention, unique and unrepeatable. He has a special plan for you. Look into this mirror, which is God, every day. You are beautiful because you are God’s image!
No other person can ever be as beautiful as you can be. Provided that you love. Your love makes you irreplaceable in this world.
Remember the words of Blessed Carlo Acutis, whom Pope Francis quoted in his apostolic exhortation Christus Vivit: “’Everyone is born as an original, but many people end up dying as photocopies.’ Don’t let that happen to you!“
