Up close at the Circus Maximus
Sr. Chanda Nsofwa FMA from Zambia was one of the volunteers who was closely involved in the Day of Confession. She tells us about her personal experience.

What impression do you have when you look back on this day?
The most impressive thing about the day of reconciliation was definitely the number of young people who continuously flocked to Circo Massimo for the sacrament of reconciliation in the course of the day.
I was equally impressed by the commitment and sacrifice of the priests and bishops who came in numbers from different parts of the world to listen to the confessions of the young people. Some of them where listening to the confessions standing in the sun for a considerable length of time. May the Good Lord reward each one of them.
Is there a personal highlight you would like to tell us about?
I was touched by the commitment and seriousness with which the young people approached the sacrament of reconciliation. As I moved in their midst sharing the Youcat confession booklets, I could see the young people prayerfully waiting for their turn in the hot sun. This showed how central the experience of reconciliation was to the young pilgrimage in this Jubilee year of hope and beyond.
You distributed the book YOUCAT Confession to young people. What would you particularly highlight from this book?
Cały rok book presents the sacrament of reconciliation in a style and language which is understandable to the young people and even to the adults. I have been touched by chapter two- preparing for confession which presents a different way of examining one’s conscience. As a whole the booklet is an aid to a Christian way of living.
Is there anything else you would like to share?
The experience of the day of reconciliation in the jubilee experience of the youth from different parts of the world sends a message of unfailing hope for a reconciled humanity. A message of peace deeply desired by the new generation. “We want peace in the world” they all said together with Pope Leo XIV at the opening Mass of the Jubilee of the Youth at St. Peter’s Square.
Grateful to ACN benefactors, grateful to Youcat Foundation for helping the young people to learn about the catholic faith with joy.
